Montana Brewery & Distillery Tours Dating Back Over 150 Years

Montana’s brewing tradition reaches back to 1863, when Virginia City opened its first brewery. Today, that tradition is still alive and well, from hoppy craft beers and well-known lagers to Montana whiskey and small-batch distilleries.

Although the original Virginia City brewery no longer manufactures beer and now serves as a theatre, visitors have plenty of opportunities to explore more than 100 craft breweries and distilleries across the state.

Winter Tours In Yellowstone

Experience A Different Side Of The Park

Winter in Yellowstone means fewer crowds, frigid temperatures, frozen rivers and lakes, and steaming geyser basins rising through the cold mountain air. As winter storms blanket the park with snow, skis, snowshoes, snow coaches, and snowmobiles become the primary ways to explore.

Restricted vehicle access and limited seasonal services make winter visits far different than the summer experience. That difference is what makes it unforgettable. Yellowstone becomes quieter, wilder, and more dramatic, offering adventure travelers the chance to experience the park in one of its most magical seasons.

Although Yellowstone is a must-see destination any time of year, winter turns it into a paradise for travelers who want snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, steaming geysers, hot springs, snowy trails, and deep winter scenery..

Float Through History on the Missouri River

Three To Five-Days

Montana 406 Outdoor Adventures offers three to five-day Wild and Scenic Missouri River canoe trips each summer. Expert river guides with extensive historical knowledge lead you through the water, set up camp each night, and cook incredible campfire meals for a true taste of Montana.

Having made the scenic 149-mile float on multiple occasions, we can say firsthand that this is a once-in-a-lifetime outdoor adventure.

About the Float

The Mighty Missouri is always flowing, slowly carving and shaping the land and the people who have called this area home. For Lewis and Clark historians, this route is especially meaningful. The Corps of Discovery marveled at “scenes of visionary enchantment” and the now-famous White Cliffs of the Missouri.

Steamboats, fortune seekers, miners, Indigenous history, cave paintings, tipi sites, wildlife, and remote scenery all add to the richness of the journey. This trip is for those who want to get out as the explorers did. There is no cellphone service, no internet, and few other campers. The route offers abundant wildlife sightings, historic points of interest, and opportunities to get off the river and explore.
